I, Dalagonash, am a 20 year-old WoW player who also dabbles in the past time of LARP (Live Action Role Play) and has previously kept the two activities separate, playing WoW simply as a game, and LARPing in fields and woods when the occasion arrived, but now it's time to merge them...

The RP servers have always been a tantalising carrot to me, promising a more immersing experience than a normal realm, and perhaps a more immersing experience than a solo RPG considering a lot of the characters I will encounter will be real people, making reactions completely unscripted.

And so meet Tirik the troll shaman, my excursion into the world of RP. I've already levelled him to 13 to get things underway.



As with any attempt to RP a character, it's important to want to be that character and live in the world. I chose a troll for a number of reasons, I wanted to be a horde character because I feel their plight is more understandable to the obnoxious Alliance races and I chose to play a Troll because I like them and it should be fun to play as the 'new guys' of the horde (not countingBelfs ), and the Trolls still have a lot of evil tribes in the world, giving my character a lot to play off. As far as being a shaman is concerned, I think a Troll is at home as a shaman,.

So, over the next few weeks I hope to provide a log of my experiences on an RP server, I would try and write them as authentic journal entries but I think the jamaican might drive me insane, not to mention anyone trying to read it!
